Grace Matata’s debut album ‘Nyakati’ in stores now
Born in Mbeya and grew up in a small town called Kibaha, Grace matata started singing and writing poetry as early as 9 years old. But a real interest in music started in high school. A good friend introduced her to the MUSIC LAB (M lab) when he heard her singing at work. She went for an audition and got signed by the M lab in 2009 and the rest is the product you dare to miss it.
NYAKATI CATALOGUE is her debut solo album with 12 songs on it with five guest appearances ( Ben pol, Wyre, Banana Zorro, William Otuck and Nurwel), co produced by the team of producers: Duke tachez, Willie HD, Mujwahuki and Kamongo. This album is a story of discovery herself and experimenting with her music and different ways of expressing her feelings.
It is a great achievement not only for grace, but also for anybody who is involved with the young but efficient record label in Tanzania. This is the 5th LP to be produced and launched by the record label, following the launching of MAGOMA (Ben pol), SAUTI YA JOGOO (Nikki mbishi),
SOGA ZA MZAWA (one the incredible) and THE AFRICAN SON (Stereo).
