Is More Skin Sexy?

Fashion changes at the blink of the eye, one minute big belts and skinny jeans are in, next thing you know oversized shirts and leggings are the new craze; women more so than men, have more room to be creative as most of the fashion trends are centered on them.

As you move from one side of the world to another, you will notice that a lot of the fashion trends either are built around the culture or go against it. Places like Europe, where the heart of fashion is, people are more open to some of the contemporary styles that grace the runways and magazines.

Here in Africa, we tend to be a bit more conservative in the way we dress. If every girl and guy suddenly decided to wear some of the latest clothes fresh from the runways in Paris, it would surely cause an up rise in the local communities, as many Africans are not as exposed or accepting of the candid styles. Even Dar es Salaam, known for its modern lifestyle and urban culture has still not reached the same level as that of the west, though it is well on its way.

One of the growing fashion trends at the moment is the really short shorts for women, worn with either a one piece tight top or shirt. Another popular style is a loose shirt over tight pants. The question is, which is sexier? The clothes that show the most skin or the one that leaves more to the imagination?

We asked 6 random guys what they thought was sexier and the overall consensus was that a woman who left room to the imagination was definitely sexier, though they couldn’t help but add that they don’t mind looking at a woman who does show more skin. When a guy is left wondering what is underneath the tight top, or when his eyes are drawn to a loose button, it stimulates their minds, thus leaves them thinking about you.

So ladies, next time you’re looking to grab the attention of a man, remember less skin is sexier!
