Magufuli praises the youth but…

I am not a fan of watching TV, but there is an incident that has left me shocked. Honourable Dr.Magufuli has given a major thumb up to the youth earlier today. How much they have followed his strategy of Hapa Kazi tu.

I do not deny the fact that they have been hardworking and how they advertise our country. So the incident that left me shocked was when I saw a young girl on EATV’s Skonga show who said the capital city of Somalia is ‘Al Shabab’.

President Magufuli do not be fooled by some of the youth that crowd on every speech you make. Some are only there to be seen and receive undeserved praise.

It’s obvious that we do have a poor reading culture and if this continues Doctor we might not reach our goal. Ever since you were elected, all they say is ,Hapa Kazi tu while they stick to one page for a whole day. I want to sheepishly agree that we are still having a problem. I mean things to do with capital cities are taught in class 7 and here we are embarrassing ourselves on TV screens.

The problem is that the youth spend too much time playing candy crush on their mobile phones instead of actually buying candy to chew them. Some would rather dodge their classes to ensure that they post a picture on Instagram and not to miss to put an emoji.

Go to the beach and snap chat about it yet they have never read a novel to strengthen their vocabulary.

Clearly by now, you realise that something has to be done in the education panel if we are to continue with this strategy. All in all I am humbled that you have noticed that some of us are really up for building this nation.

Step by step i know we are heading to a better place. Enough said if you are still downloading Temple Run how about you download the Atlas and cram all African states cities as my father would once cobble me with it. Not that the games are bad but time is not on our side if we are to meet our 2030 goals. Is it?
