Panamusiq signs Nigerian artist 36 States

Panamusiq continues its Pan African expansion by signing French/Nigerian artist 36 States on a long term contract.

Louis Edet Otioro aka 36 States is an incredibly versatile artist influenced by the kind of Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Jimmy Cliff and Shaba Ranks. He is a full-round artist: writer, composer, singer and performer, always looking for new sounds between modernity and tradition, Europe and Africa.

His artistic name is a reference to his native country, Nigeria, that is a confederation of 36 states which he almost travelled all in his youth with his mother.

36 States also cares about the future of young African artists. Thus, he created the STATES PRODUCTION Label in Guinea Conakry after a journey in this country in 2006. Through his label, he tried to share his knowledge with the artists of tomorrow by providing them with production, promotion and management services. By setting-up the recording studio “Studio 36 States”, he was also aiming at the development of his artists’ musical careers.

After dedicating himself to others, he decided to return to the sources of his music to make his first solo album entitled “My Introduction” that was recorded in France, Mali, Belgium and Guinea Conakry and released in 2010. This album of 18 tracks is the fruit of its musical peregrinations. A fruit with multiple flavors that could be attributed to the Reggae, Hip Hop, Afro-beat, R’n’B, Pop but also World Music.

36 States is also a very powerful performer and has shown these skills on stages across Africa and Europe including on the world famous Bataclan Concert Hall in Paris during the Afrique en Scene Festival and at the Festival Urban Afreeka in Guinea Conakry.

In 2014, 36 States returned to his native Nigeria and is now working on getting a new Pan African sound with the support of his new management company Panamusiq.

Full media kit of 36 States is available on www.panamusiq.com.

Panamusiq now represents artist from East, Central and West Africa and has Southern Africa at sight to complete its objective of been a truly Pan African music player.
