Photos: Demonstration by Muslim group takes over Ministry of Home Affairs
This afternoon a large group of muslims peacefully rallied in the city centre and finally camped in front of the Ministry of Home Affairs in an effort to influence the police to release fellow muslims who have allegedly being arrested for refusing to take part in the recent national census.
Leaders from the group managed to meet with the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mubaraka Abdulwakili, and after lengthy discussions they emerged with what they called a 99.9% victory announcing that the Police force has agreed to release all Muslims being held in custody after refusing to take part in the census exercise.
