Raila Odinga turns down the new election date

Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has declared he is not ready to take part in the re-election of the presidential election in the country.Mr Odinga said he wants to have legal and constitutional strategies needed, before he agrees to participate in the polls.

Mr Odinga also wants a change to be made by the Electoral Commission in the country, which has been criticized by the high court for the unlawful election of the election that resulted in the removal of the results.

On Monday, the National Electoral Commission in Kenya announced that the new presidential elections in the country would be held on October 17.Deputy chairperson Wafula Chebukati said the polls would involve only two presidential candidates, President Uhuru Kenyatta and former prime minister Raila Odinga.

“There will be no new presidential candidate in the new elections, Mr Raila Odinga and his co-accused Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and three-year-old President Uhuru Kenyatta and his co-ordinator, William Samoei Ruto, will be the only candidates, “The report of the Middle East said.

In dismissing the outcome of the election held on 8 August, the Supreme Court had accused the Electoral Commission.
