Meet the Tanzania Student Entrepreneur of the year

The Tanzania Universities Entrepreneurship Challenge is aimed at getting more and more university students interested into becoming entrepreneurs, The project has proven to be the premier platform for identifying, nurturing and showcasing emerging entrepreneurs in Tanzania.

With Support from CRDB Bank, National Economic Empowernent Council (NEEC), TPSF and The University of Dar es Salaam Business School, the project works to recognize, celebrate and support smart and promising young people who are brilliant enough to get into the higher learning institutions and daring enough to launch and run businesses while still studying.

This Saturday, at the Buni Hub – COSTECH, The project we ran an award ceremony were it awarded the most promising student run company in the country, Student entrepreneurs from all over the country competed and presented their Businesses to a Panel of Judges which included seasoned entrepreneurs and investors in the country.

Diana Mbogo a student from the University of Dar es Salaam who is also the founder of Millenium Engineers Ltd, an alternative energy company operating in Dar es Salaam and Makambako Won first Place, She will be traveling to Bangkok Thailand to compete in the Global Student Entrepreneurs Award where she will face other student entrepreneurs from all over the world.

“We do this to recognize and celebrate student entrepreneurs who will, and I am confident in this, change the economy of this country, young people like Diana will succeed if they get support and they will inspire other young people to also become job creators instead of job seekers” Said Victor Mnyawami who runs the Universities Entrepreneurship Challenge Project.
