American star Ne-Yo to perform in Kampala
The America R&B musician and award-winning superstar, Shaffer Chimere Smith better known as Ne-Yo, is set to perform in Kampala, Uganda at the Lugogo Cricket oval on October 30, 2015.
The marketing director of Uganda Breweries Limited, Grace Nshemeire-Gwaku, revealed the news last Tuesday in Kampala.
It was also revealed that there will be no ticket sales to the concert.
“This concert is our way of continuously engaging our consumers at their passion points,” she said. “And because music is a strong touch point for us as Ugandans, we had to choose a contemporary artiste that fits the bill.”
Last month Ne-Yo graced the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015 in Durban, South Africa before heading to Nairobi, Kenya for Coke Studio Africa.
Ne-Yo, who is also a songwriter, producer, actor, has so far released five successful albums with the sixth, Non-Fiction coming out soon. He has won numerous awards throughout his career, including three Grammy awards.
