Congratulations Vodacom Tanzania for believing in the influence of local artists

Vodacom has done it again. They have an announced Diamond Platnumz as their new brand ambassador.

It’s in fact a history in the making as Vodacom Tanzania’s Managing Director, Ian Ferrao puts it:

Of course there is a new catch that they are now offering, free calls for an hour. To be clear, it seems like Vodacom has began to trust our artists by making Diamond their new brand ambassador. But why did they choose Diamond and not some else?

Well, firstly he is one of the most hardworking artists in the music industry. Not only does he depend on the resources from within to make his work a success but he also explores worldwide.

Secondly, he is one person who enjoys working with other people so that Tanzania’s music can cross borders. I mean, collaboration with the likes of Flavour, Davido, Waje, Yemi Alade, P-Square, Mafikizolo and many more, has been up for his advantage.

Furthermore, he is known to be a person who is self driven in expanding his career. Let’s not forget that he is admired by so many people in Africa and beyond making him the most followed artist on Instagram not only in Tanzania, but the whole African continent.

Again there is an adage that says ‘behind every great man there’s a great woman.’ There is no doubt that apart from being his fiancé and the mother of his daughter, Tiffah, Zari is Diamond’s good luck charm. “Am so grateful to have a team, family, mother and woman who is wise & intelligent… hakika ni baraka toka kwa mwenyezi Mungu,” he wrote on Instagram.

Indeed Vodacom has made the right choice. I am very glad that Vodacom has set an example for other companies in Tanzania who shy signing local artists to promote their brands.

Congratulations to Diamond and Vodacom for leading this trend.
