Miss Ubungo 2006 is set to drive home in the top prize of a Toyota Starlet worth about 5m/-.
The organisers of the contest declared this when they unveiled the top prize to journalists and the contestants yesterday.
Matukio Chuma, the spokesman for the organisation said they decided to award a car to enable the winner carry out her daily duties with ease.
He said the rest of the prizes will be confirmed at a later date as they were in the process of consolidating them.
So far, 12 contestants have registered to take part in the event scheduled for March 26 at the Landmark Hotel.
Contestants are Aneth P. Nyamziga, Jane Macha, Judith Godwin, Veronica Haule and Kaneza Kapfunsi.
Others are Zawadina Shabani, Elizabeth Paul, Nyatunga Athuman, Yvonne Mashuda and Halima Ally.
Chuma, additionally stated that the contest will be known as Korno Gold Miss Ubungo 2006.
New Hilux and Irene Stationery are the organisers of the pageant.
Imaculate Modest is the reigning Miss Ubungo.
Other sponsors are Vodacom, Zanzibar Desire andKenice Pool Table.
